Full biography
Prof. Nehme Azoury is Senior Advisor to the President at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), a position he has held since August 2025. A Professor of marketing, strategic management, and corporate governance, he previously served as Deputy President for Corporate and Employment Affairs (2019 to 2023), Deputy President for Research (2016 to 2019), and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences (2007 to 2016). He also directed USEK's Career Services Office between 2020 and 2023. He obtained his Ph.D. in Business Sciences jointly from Université Paris XI and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).
He is Secretary-General of the Arab Society of Faculties of Business Administration (affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities and founded by the Arab League), and one of the eight members of the scientific committee of Eduniversal, representing the Eurasian region. He has been an Associate and Visiting Professor at several universities, including Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), Euromed-Marseille, La Rochelle, Lyon 3, HEC Montréal, and George Washington University, which presented him with an appreciation award for Active Contribution to the Education of MSF Students.
Drawing upon this extensive experience, Prof. Azoury also imparts his specialized knowledge to MBA students through Corporate Governance and Business Ethics courses at USEK. His practical insights from executive roles in the corporate sphere enrich his teaching with real-world applications and industry expertise. He holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in business administration from USEK, where he later served as Dean of the Business School, in addition to his dual Ph.D. The fields of marketing, strategic management, and corporate governance remain his primary areas of concentration, both locally and internationally.
Beyond his academic responsibilities, Prof. Azoury has occupied executive positions in the corporate sphere. He is a consultant for international organizations such as the EBRD, alongside local consultancies including PFC International. In recent years, he has also served as Liaison for EDC and USAID's Human Capacity Development program (2019 to 2024), and as Negotiator for Social Impact and USAID on the MEL Capacity Building Activity (2024), which involved the USEK Library together with three other Lebanese organizations.
He is the author of several publications and Editor-in-Chief of the Arab Economic and Business Journal and the Lebanese Journal of Economics and Management. He is also Managing Partner at Widein, a consultancy firm based in Lebanon. With Palgrave Macmillan, Prof. Azoury has published Business and Education in the Middle East, Business and Society in the Middle East: Exploring Responsible Practice, Redefining Corporate Social Responsibility, and Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship in the MENA Region. More recently, he co-edited, with Prof. Georges Yahchouchi, Governance in Higher Education (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023) and AI in the Middle East for Growth and Business: A Transformative Force (Springer, 2024). With Prof. Frank Bournois, he published Crisis, Globalization, and Governance: How to Draw Lessons? with Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
